Richardson Police Department detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred on July 23, 2021, at 12:00 PM. 

Officers responded the Tom Thumb (819 W. Arapaho Rd.) parking lot after receiving 9-1-1 calls that a man approached a parked pickup truck and fired a gun multiple times. The sole occupant in the truck was shot. The suspect then fled the location in a vehicle.  Paramedics arrived and transported the victim to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. 

Information obtained by detectives indicates the suspect and victim knew each other. 

The victim’s identity is not being released until notification of her family has been made.
