The function of the Mobile Field Force Team is to respond to planned and unplanned events such as: riots, union strikes, protests, mass casualty disasters, and any other large scale event where a team of officers is needed to restore order. The MFF Team performs many roles such as: crowd control/containment, crowd surveillance, crowd dispersal, crowd blocking, perimeter security, and the manning of checkpoints. The MFF Team may also work in conjunction with the Richardson Police Department's S.W.A.T Team if the situation merits such a response.
