972-744-4799 is a 24 hour anonymous Hot Line which allows citizens to provide the Richardson Police Department with information regarding illegal drug activity and other crimes. If information is time sensitive and/or an incident is in progress, please call 911 for immediate response.

What happens when I call?

When you call 972-744-4799 you will hear a recorded message. Explain the activity you are reporting in as much detail as possible (e.g. exact address, make/model of vehicles and license plates if possible, age, sex, race etc of persons involved in the activity). You do not have to provide your name or contact information.

What happens to the information I provide?

Information is cross referenced and followed up by officers to determine what investigatory and or enforcement steps may be taken next. Even information you believe to be insignificant may be the missing piece of a larger puzzle officers are working.

What if I want to speak to an officer directly?

•You may leave your name and number on the recorded hot line and an officer will return your call.

Do I have the option of e-mailing my tip?

Yes, the Department provides you the option of e-mailing information by utilizing this form.
