The Crime Scene Unit is responsible for the identification, collection, and preservation of evidence from crime scenes. Among the many types of evidence is finger/palm prints, blood and other body fluids, shoe and tire prints/impressions, fibers, firearms, bullets and casings; to name just a few. The Crime Scene Unit also utilizes the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) to individualize unknown prints from crime scenes.
