Worth Metroplex, just north of the City of Dallas, the Richardson Police Department is a full service, customer-oriented department, dedicated to working as partners with our citizens to maintain a safe and peaceful community. As a "Accredited" Best Practices Agency by the Texas Police Chief Association Foundation, we strive to provide the highest level of police service possible, today and in the future. We are held in high esteem by both our community and professional colleagues because of the legacy of greatness built by the hard work of past and current members of the Richardson Police Department. We are a "Higher Caliber" Agency.

TPCAF Accredited Agency Since 2009:
The Texas Police Chiefs Association Foundation Accreditation Program is a voluntary process where police agencies in Texas prove their compliance with 166 Texas Law Enforcement Best Practice standards.  These Best Practices were carefully developed by Texas Law Enforcement professionals to assist agencies in the efficient and effective delivery of service, the reduction of risk, and the protection of individual’s rights. 

The TPCAF Accreditation Program is similar in nature to the national accreditation program and is designed specifically for Texas law enforcement.  The Texas Legislature demands a great deal of professional law enforcement in Texas and Best Practices were specifically designed to aid Texas agencies in meeting those demands and providing the best quality of service to the people of our State.  The TPCAF Accreditation Program has clearly become the new gold standard for Texas law enforcement.  The Richardson Police Department is proud to be an accredited agency.
