Richardson Police Academy
Admission Policy

Richardson Police Academy classroom classes are limited to sworn (active law enforcement), representatives of law enforcement (employees of law enforcement agencies), honorably retired law enforcement and individuals currently licensed by TCOLE but not currently employed by a law enforcement agency.

Firearms, defensive tactics, and reality-based classes are limited to sworn (active law enforcement) officers.

Proper identification may be requested for all classes. 

In the event of a wait list, priority will be given in the following order: Richardson Police Department police officers, active police officers, representatives of law enforcement agencies, honorably retired police officers, and current TCOLE licensees that are not employed as law enforcement officers at the time of the course.
