Applicants with relevant prior 911 communication center experience may be eligible for lateral entry. Telecommunicators that qualify for the lateral entry program will be on a case by case basis with final determination made by the Chief of Police. Lateral entry eligibility is determined by TCOLE licensing and Telecommunicator experience prior to the date of employment with the City of Richardson.

 
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of 2 years continuous experience as a Telecommunicator in a law enforcement agency equivalent in call volume and type to the Richardson Police Department.
  • Break in service of no more than 12 months prior to the date of application.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Texas Basic Telecommunicator License.

 

Pay will be evaluated, equivalent with relevant experience, up to $65,076.
